Questions About James
So I’m confused. Are you a chiropractor or not?
I am a chiropractor-to-be. I expect to receive my Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine degree in August 2011. Until that point, I am not, and do not claim to be, a licensed medical professional.
What do you plan on doing after you graduate?
Ideally, I would like to work as a chiropractor in an integrative healthcare environment, where I’m surrounded by not only other chiropractors, but other fields of medicine as well (medical doctors, osteopathic doctors, etc). I’m committed to the patient’s wellness, and I believe that collaboration between chiropractors and other medical professionals is essential to the patient receiving the best care possible. I’d also like to participate in continuing education programs so that eventually I can earn a diplomate.
Are you currently seeking post-graduation employment?
Yes. I am most interested in working in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Colorado, or North Carolina. However, I am certainly open to exploring other opportunities.
Why did you choose to go to National University of Health Sciences?
NUHS trains chiropractors to become primary care physicians. Given the direction I believe the healthcare industry is headed, this training is a huge asset. Also, I appreciate the in-depth medical background that they teach. Solid chiropractic skills, combined with other medical knowledge, makes for a better, more informed chiropractor who is able to meet the needs of patients.
